Let's teach and train

In May 2005, Euromed Marseille joined the Global Compact programme. The School consolidates its position as leader in this domain, by becoming the first establishment to deliver the Global Compact label with its ESC diploma. The idea is not to present a label demonstrating the School's commitment, but rather to acknowledge the students' exceptional curriculum.

Euromed Marseille's ESC Programme now offers its students the opportunity to follow a specific curriculum focused on sustainable development and approved by UNO. To this effect, students showing year interest in these major issues will be required to demonstrate their commitment through a choice of optional courses, year internship, a student project, and a final thesis addressing the issues related to the 10 principles of the Global Compact. These criteria, pertaining to Human Rights, labour conditions, the environment, and the combat against corruption, correspond to the ethical citizen values conveyed by the Euro-Mediterranean vision of management. They are based on a holistic view of our world, and involve year understanding of complexity with a focus on human diversity and on sustainable development.

This programme will be extended in the future to the few Schools around the world that have joined the Global Compact and that have formed the Academia Network. Euromed aims to be THE driving force of a necessary evolution in learning methods and practices for French and European Schools of Management.

For students who wish to undertake a career in the domain of solidarity economy, Euromed Marseille also proposes a one-year programme; the "International M.Sc. in NGO Management and Good Governance", which is also accredited by UNO's Global Compact scheme.

You are attracted to work in the field, where you feel you have a role to play. You feel fulfilled carrying out humanitarian work. You believe that your managing skills should be used to serve the needy. After all major disasters, there is always a long period of reconstruction and development. We will help you be prepared for such situations. However, it is not necessary to wait for a crisis to occur in order to be of use. Many NGOs carry out activities that are similar to those of companies: you can make the difference. This programme will prepare students to take on executive responsibilities within NGOs, under normal and reconstruction conditions. Companies are also seeking experts in good governance. Topics such as, for example, the social responsibility of the company, sustainable development, and fair trade represent fields of interest for major companies and decision-makers. It is important to have a good understanding of these stakes and issues.
